6-week puppy socialization classes

Objectives: Bite inhibition, simple obedience commands, leash walking and more

Note: Sign up for Puppy 1 & 2 (12 weeks of instruction) and SAVE $50 total on the course fees(course fee after discount is $200). 

How to Sign Up for class:

Call Wanda at 972-841-3550 to have your name added to the class roster.

Course fee due at 1st class - check or cash
Participants must bring their dog's current vaccination records to the first class.

Puppy 1 class (for puppies 10 weeks to 18.5 weeks)


When:  Feb 27 through April 3
Time: 9am - 10am

Puppy 2 class (for puppies 18.5 weeks to 18 months)


When:  Mar 6 through Apr 10 Time: 10am - 11am
Location: 1001 Broken Spoke Drive, Little Elm 75068

Adult Dog class (2 years and older)

GROWLY Dog class mildly dog aggressive/reactive dogs.  NO people aggressive dogs permitted**

When: Feb 27 through April 3                                                     CLASS FULL!
Time: 12:30pm - 1:30pm

** Dogs must be evaluated by trainer before you can enroll

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Regular Classes meet one hour a week for 6 weeks in Little Elm
Limited spaces available

(Requirement: Proof of vaccinations due at first class)

 

Note: Sign up for Puppy 1 & 2 (12 weeks of instruction) and SAVE $50 on the combined course fees. 

Puppy 1  (This class is for puppies between 10 weeks and 18.5 weeks of age)
Socialize your puppy, teach bite inhibition, learn some simple commands and meet new friends.  You'll learn more about your new family member and build a strong foundation of behaviors for the future.  We will learn Sit, Down, Stand, Stay, Puppy Massage, Come When Called, tricks and have game competitions.  Free membership in the Puppy Social Club.  Off Leash Class
$125 per dog.

Puppy 2  (For Puppy 1 grads and pups between 19 weeks and 2 years old)
Class expands on Puppy 1 skills and adds, distance commands, emergency command, longer duration and distractions, and competition games.  Continued socialization and free membership in the Puppy Social Club.  Off Leash Class $125 per dog.

Adult Dog Teach your dog to Stop jumping, Come When Called, Take It, Leave It, Drop It, and Walk Nicely on a Leash.  We also play some games to reinforce the behaviors. 
$125 per dog

GROWLY Dog class  - Some dogs are fearful of other dogs and bark and lunge on leash.  Oftentimes this behavior is due to incomplete socialization.  Your dog can be desensitized to other dogs so he can calmly accompany you to public places (other than dog parks).  Required trainer evaluation for all participating dogs.


Level I Rally-O  Join us for a team sport - Use the obedience behaviors you already know and learn some new ones such as Back Up, About Turn, Left and Right Finish, Straight Figure 8), all while navigating a set course.  $135 per dog

Class Descriptions

NEW!  Day Training - For the busy owner: I train your dog in your home, then teach you the necessary skills to maintain his training long term.  Discounted day training packages available.

Private Training
- One on one training with the trainer , you and your dog in various locations.

In-home Training -Target specific behavior challenges with your dog in your own home.

Group Obedience Classes - Learn obedience training, improve your handling skills and meet new friends. Group classes are great for socialization and provide a real life training setting.  Puppy, Beginner, Intermediate are geared toward socialization and gaining skills to earn your dog's Canine Good Citizen Certificate.  Advanced training includes off-leash work.

Outdoor Adventure Class -Training your dog in the "real world." Classes take place In town, parks and trails.

Kids and Dogs - Learn what is involved in caring for a dog.  Hands-on workshop introduces kids to handling and walking their dog, general care and games to play with their dog.

Rally-O - A fun team sport for dog and handler where the team negotiates a course with different exercises to perform.  Use obedience behaviors you already know and learn some new ones such as: About turn, Left and Right Finish, and Straight Figure 8.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Test - The CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

Many dog owners choose Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in training their dogs. The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other activities such as Therapy Dog work, Rally-O, Agility, and more.
